Day 243- Happy Easter

Look how cute these Easter eggs are.  I've never heard of an Easter egg tree, but the pin is just too adorable.

Day 242- Things I wonder about

This pin says:

 "Dear inventor of tampons,
how awkward was it for you to explain your invention to everyone?"

I have often wondered that.  I also wonder about who was the first person to eat an egg?  What was going through he or her head?  It came out of a chicken.  Let's eat it!

Day 241- I'm going on an adventure

When I was a kid and a teacher would send me to take something to another room, I really did feel like I was going on an adventure.

I still feel like Bilbo Baggins whenever I go somewhere new or exciting.

Day 240- Easter Egg Dye

You can use Kool-Aid to dye eggs for Easter.  All you need is Kool-Aid and water.  No vinegar, so you don't have that gross smell.

Just add a packet of Kool-Aid to 2/3 cup of water and put some hard-boiled eggs in it.  It's so cheap to do.  You can buy 5 packets of Kool-Aid for about $1.

Day 239- Chevron Painting

I saw this painting on Pinterest and loved it.  Apparently, the painter sells them on Etsy, but it doesn't look too difficult to paint something similar.

I love the metallic colors mixed in with the bright colors.  I think I will give this a try if I ever get brave.

Day 238- Painfully Honest Cakes

Here is a pin about painfully honest cake messages.  Some of these are hilarious.  There are some real gems like "I'm sorry I thought you were a woman," or "Congrats on your teen pregnancy."

My favorite is "Happy 3rd Anniversary.  y u no propose?"

I would have that cake made if someone didn't propose to me after three years.  Just saying.

Day 237- Run from Zombies

This pin is about a running app tht turns your progress into a zombie survival narrative.  I can totally see myself running into something because I was too busy reading this app while I am running.  It's a hazard and I need this app!

I couldn't find the name of the app anywhere.  Does anyone know what it is called?

Day 236- This is genius.

I can't believe that I didn't think of this before.

Place your phone in a plastic baggie whenever your hands are dirty and wet.  You can still use your phone without getting it wet.  It's perfect for the beach or while taking a bath.  I always hate getting texts when I'm taking a bath.  Even when I dry my hands, my phone still gets wet.  Not anymore!

Day 235- I can fix that!

I can't believe that people actually do these things.  They certainly are creative ways to fix common problems.

I can fix that!

Day 233- Benefits of Running

This pin gives the Top 10 Benefits of Running.

I've been running for a couple of months now and I have to agree with most of these.  I don't know if my bones are more dense, but I do think that I'm in better shape.

Day 232- How I met your mother

Kids, in the summer of 2012, your Aunt Robin decided to join the Avengers.

That is exactly what I thought when I saw her in the movie.  lol

Day 231- This blew my mind

I saw this pin and had to Google all of the facts.

I knew that there were a lot of crazy coincidences with Lincoln and Kennedy, but I wasn't aware of all of them.  I can't believe that a week before Lincoln was assassinated, he was in Monroe, Maryland and a week before Kennedy was assassinated, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

How bizarre!

Day 230- Science

This is my kind of science.

Pinned Image
Beards make you hotter and mustaches make you creepier.

It looks like beards also make you tanner.  Just saying.

I would gladly participate in this kind of scientific study, but I am biased.  I love guys with beards.

Day 229- If I win the lottery

This pin is so right.

"Thanks to Pinterest when I win the lottery I'll be prepared to show my new real estate agent, stylist, and personal chef exactly what I want."

Day 228 - Game of Thrones Characters

The TV show "Game of Thrones" has a lot of characters. Even though I have watched both seasons twice, I still don't know most of the characters' names.  (I had to watch the series twice because I didn't know what was going on.  I was so confused).

Anyways, I have made up names for the characters in my head.  I saw this pin and laughed because some of the names they use in the pin are the ones that I call them.  There's Robb and Other Robb, who I finally realized isn't a Stark.

There are a lot of characters I call "Who the fuck is that?"  And I always forget about that Baby Stark.  He needs more screen time because I forget about him.

Day 227 - Irish Girl Tanning

This pin made me laugh for a good ten minutes.  I couldn’t breathe.  This is exactly what my sister and I look like when we go to the beach.  I can tan. My sister, on the other hand, burns.  It’s that fair Nordic skin that she got from my mother’s side of the family.

Seriously, my sister would blend in with that sand, too.  She is so pale that you can see her veins. It’s weird.

At least this gave me a good laugh.

Day 226- Interview Questions

I am having the worst luck with interviews.  My last one ended when the fire alarm went off.  The one before that didn't even start because my interviewer forgot about our interview and wasn't there.

Anyways, I saw this pin about the "Most Asked Job Interview Questions and How to Answer Them."

This gives you tips on how to answer the most popular interview questions.  Hopefully, I will help me.

Day 225- DIY Hand Scrub

I was looking for ideas for a birthday present on Pinterest and saw this pin for DIY hand scrub that is similar to Mary Kay's Satin Hands.  I decided to make this and do a cute pampering basket with nail polish and cute stuff like that.

I took a small mason jar (12 oz. I think) and filled it 3/4 full with sugar.

Then, I added pink Dawn dish soap until it reached the bottom of the mouth of the jar.

I stirred it together.  I had to add a little bit more sugar to make it a paste like consistency.

I tied a cute bow on it and Voila! Birthday present!  (Well, part of a birthday present)

Day 223 - Salad in a Jar

I see salad in a jar pins all the time on Pinterest.  This pin shows how to make them in four simple steps.

Step 1: Dressing
Step 2: Veggies
Step 3: Meat and cheese
Step 4: Lettuce

According to the pin, the salads are good for 4-7 days after you make them.  Mine never last that long because I eat them before that.  It's a great way to always have healthy food ready to eat.

Day 222- DIY Liquid Foundation

It's no secret that I hate putting chemicals on my face.  My theory is if it's not safe to eat, then I won't put it on my skin.  It's weird, but it's how I feel.

I saw this pin about how to make your own DIY liquid foundation.  I love it.  Now I can control what goes into my makeup and it's so simple.

Ingredients:
  • facial powder (the pin says to use mineral powder, but I just used regular and it turned out fine.
  • Oil that is safe for your face (almond, coconut, baobab, jojoba, tamanu, etc.)
  • a mixing cup
  • a small spatula
  • essential oil is optional.
How to:

1. Pour as much powder as you desire into your mixing cup.

2. Add facial oil. Ratio of powder to oil is 2:1. Stir with spatula until no lumps remain. Remember to add more powder or oil depending on the consistency you’d like.

3. Add 2 drops of your chosen essential oil and stir again. ( I didn't ddo this)

4. Apply mixture to face with a sponge, foundation brush or fingers.

Mine turned out great.  I used coconut oil.  I was worried that my skin would look a little oily, but after I put some powder on my face, I was relieved that there was no shine.

The moment when you realize that it spells 'horse.'

Is this photoshopped?  If it's not, then this is unbelievable.

Day 220- DIY Lace Scarf

Pinned ImageI love this scarf that I saw on Pinterest. It's so cute and I love the green color.  The best part of this pin?  It's DIY with the instructions included!

Here's what you need:

  • fabric: 1/2 yard for a pretty thick scarf. The pin scarf was made with jersey knit.
  • Lace: About a yard.  The lace in the pin was from a curtain.  Such a great way to reuse fabric.
  • Thread.

  • Start by sewing the lace on with part of the design on the jersey. Just using a zig zag stitch, sew a straight along the edge of the jersey.

Use a zig zag stitch to secure it along the sides.

There are pictures and better instructions on the blog that it came from.

Day 219- What I Do Every Night

I saw this pin and was amazed because I do this every single night.

I lay in bed with my laptop.  When it's time for bed, I shut it down and then take out my iPhone and use that for a while before I actually go to sleep.

Day 218- Stop Chemicals in Mac and Cheese

Kraft puts a lot of chemicals in their Mac n' cheese.  It's no secret.  All you have to do is look at it and know that cheese isn't naturally that color orange.

But I learned from Pinterest that Kraft doesn't put those ingredients in their products for other countries.  The UK version of mac and cheese doesn't have artificial food dye like the US version does.

Don't we deserve the same as other countries?  We should be more concerned about what is in our food.

Sign this petition to ask Kraft to remove dangerous artifical food dye from our Mac and Cheese.

I signed and you should too.

    Day 217- Cobb Salad

I saw this pin and got really excited.  This cobb salad looks so good.  I don't know why, but it has me craving it now.  I guess I know what I am having for lunch.  Of course, I will skip the ham since I'm vegetarian.

    The recipe from the pin:
    1 ounce blue cheese crumbles
    3 tablespoons red-wine vinegar
    1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
    1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
    1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

In a small bowl, whisk together cheese, vinegar, and mustard. Slowly whisk in the oil. Season with pepper. Drizzle vinaigrette over salad, and serve immediately.

Day 215- how i feel applying for jobs

This pin made me laugh because it's how I feel all the time.  It's the catch 22 of entry level jobs.  And it has Frodo in the meme!

"So you're telling me I have to get experience before I get experience?"

    I will never understand it.

Day 214 - Hide cords and routers

I hate the look of cable boxes, routers, modems, and cords.  This pin is a great idea.  Use cute, decorative boxes to hide such things.

I don't think this will work for a cable box, so I still need to find a way to hide that.

    So adorable!
